Styling collaboration suggestion from my second year at University.
The Hip Store has been a pioneer of menswear trends since they opened the first store in Leeds, UK back in 1987.
They keep an up-to-date blog on their website with trends, events and interviews with employees as a “Get to Know” section allowing buyers to become more familiar with the faces behind the brand.
The Hip Store stock a variety of brands from well known such as Adidas, Converse and
Ralph Lauren, to the less well known brands such as Don’t Mess with Yorkshire, Grenson and Vetra which may be considered as b The Hip Store rands with more individuality.
The Hip Store have a variety of competitors including Aphrodite, Oi Polloi, Caliroots and Priory.
Adidas started in a wash room in 1924 and ended up conquering the world. Adidas has its roots in Germany but are truly a global company. With around over 59,000 global employees. In 2019 Adidas produced over 1.1 billion sports and sports lifestyle products with independent manufacturing partners worldwide and generated sales of €23.640 billion.
These numbers alone can easily suggest that Adidas is quite a large and also multifaceted
organisation.
Adidas also have a variety of competitors including Nike, Fila, Converse and Puma. All have the same target audience and price range.
For my pitch, I’m going to introduce multiple modelling to the Hip Store & Adidas. This gives their audience and any new customers the chance to better their shopping experience and will make it more accurate. This idea brings modernism to the Hip Store and will allow
customers to have a better shopping experience. It has already been done by various other retail companies such as ASOS and Pretty Little Thing and has proved to have positive
reactions from customers. It also provides an increase in their ethical reputation as models of diversity will be used.
This image suggests what could be implemented to their website where customers are able to browse and choose a model of similar height and weight to them and be able to view an item of clothing on a model similar to their own build. This allows a more accurate representation of the styling/fitting on certain garments and decreases the chance of disappointment from customers who purchase clothing that ends up not fitting them correctly. This goes for both men and women, for example, the models will be of various heights and weights so the customer can choose which model is most similar to them.
Mock up 1 shows a representation of what Adidas’ opening page would look like on The Hip Stores website with the new multi-model concept.
Mock up 2 shows a representation of the new product page. The mock up shows a male and
female model both modelling the same garment with the option to see it on other models.
Mock up 3 shows the model page that is linked to the ‘Models’ section on the product
page. It shows various models of different gender, age, height and weight. Consumers can
click on whoever they see themselves most similar to, to receive a more accurate fitting of
the product.
In conclusion.......
